Confidence - having faith in yourself. Believing that this is a meaningful endeavor, that you have
something important to say, and that you have the ability to say it.
Courage - not being afraid to push your abilities to the fullest. Not being afraid to explore new ideas or old fears. Shedding light on all those dark corners, illuminating the truths or misconceptions that have hidden there.
Curiosity - viewing the world and its inhabitants with the openness of a child. Asking yourself "What if"? Playing "Let's pretend" instead of assuming you already know the outcome.
Creativity - wanting to bring a new thought to light, an unborn character to life.
Commitment - making writing an important part of your life, regardless of its income-producing potential. It isn't being published that makes you a writer. You are a writer as long as you write.
