The best kind of fame is a writer’s fame. Just enough to get a good table at a restaurant and not enough for someone to interrupt you while you are eating.
Publishing Credits Health and wellness, energy efficiency and “green living,” and home renovation and design trends are just a few of the topics I have covered for consumer, trade and special interest magazines.
As an essayist, I explore how we struggle to find our way through the ever-changing landscape of life. And in my fiction, the characters deal with issues and conflicts common to all—although their methods of coping can be unusual and, at times, detrimental to their well-being.
The Gifts of Change (released in 2004 by Beyond Words) illustrates that we don’t always need a major life changing event to experience a significant shift in our perceptions of what life is — and who we are. All the changes that come into our lives bring with them the opportunity to learn more about ourselves, ultimately creating a richer, deeper, more fulfilling life. The Gifts of Change is also available in both Korean and Turkish foreign editions.
My current non-fiction book project will help you "bust outta your rut," inspired by real-life stories from people who made a change that changed their lives.
I'm also seeking representation for my "coming-of-(middle)age" novel, Finding Fran—the story about a romance novelist with writer's block and a cheating lover who, thanks to an elderly and somewhat eccentric innkeeper (who else keeps a .22 in the flour bin in the kitchen?), figures out what she wants for her life ahead.
