A Little Bit About Me...

A professional writer and member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, I’ve published articles in a wide range of print media and on informational websites, covering topics from “green living” and energy efficiency to home improvement and health and wellness.

For seven years, my columns in HOMEBusiness Journal detailed the trials and triumphs of self-employment, painting an accurate picture of entrepreneurship while offering encouragement to those who explore that career option.

My essays and fiction can be found on the pages of magazines as diverse as Woman's Day, Stress-Free Living, Succeed, Tai Chi, Wanderings, Office Number One, Writer's Digest and Xtreme, exploring personal growth and relationship issues.

My book, The Gifts of Change, (Beyond Words Publishing) encourages readers to take a closer look at how they deal with the inevitability of change and ways in which they can use change to gain a new perspective, re-evaluate their goals and reconsider their options.

To support that goal, I have created the Community of Change web site as your guide on your journey through life transitions. I know from my own experience and those of others I have interviewed, how critical it is to search for the “gifts” that change can bring and how exercising your “change muscle” on a regular basis can keep you ready for all life brings your way! And my personal growth workshops are a  great way to "bust out of your rut" and move forward to a richer, more fulfilling life.

My weekly Internet radio show, “Take Charge of Your Life” Tuesdays at 10 AM (EST) on VoiceAmerica network, offers yet another way to make changes in your life. It’s all about taking charge of all the areas of your life—career, health, relationship and finances—so you can achieve your goals!

In addition to teaching adult-level writing classes, I speak frequently on the craft of writing at writing conferences and workshops. I have also appeared on the Over the Back Fence cable television show, discussing writing and the writer’s life, and have been interviewed about self-employment by both HOMEBusiness Journal and Writer’s Digest.
